About

Kelly A. Schiers, DO, is board certified pulmonary and critical care physician. Currently practicing as an Intensivist at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital, she serves as ICU Medical Director and is on various committees for Jefferson Health - New Jersey. Dr. Schiers strongly believes in evidence-based education for all involved in health care, and champions numerous programs for physician trainees and hospital staff.

“An Intensivist is a specialized physician who exclusively takes care of critically ill patients. While I hope no one ever has to see me, unfortunately patients become sick enough to need a stay in the Intensive Care Unit. My job is to make sure the highest level, most up-to-date care is provided during a person’s sickest times in life. My team and I strive to deliver a comprehensive approach to every ICU stay; we understand an ICU admission often means treating a family, not just a patient, and caring for someone’s emotional well-being as much as his/her physical ailments.”
