About

I knew from a young age that I wanted to help people, but never gave a lot of thought as to the ‘how’ of all that. I gravitated towards the sciences in school, and the ability to combine my talents and passion led me to nursing.

My goal as a Nurse Practitioner is to promote the overall health and wellness of my patients. I strive to achieve this by caring for acute and chronic illnesses, identifying and screening higher risk individuals, and guiding those under my care to a lead a healthier lifestyle.

I feel it is paramount to look at each patient as a whole, not just focusing on a particular illness or medical condition. I believe it is important to consider each patient's treatment option medically, psychologically, emotionally, and even financially. It's my goal to help my patients be the best they can be in all aspects of their lives.

The most rewarding thing for me is being able to really make a difference in people's lives. Even if it is just one person, that's still a “win” to me.

I wish patients would ask me more often, “How can I be healthier?” It is a simple question, but it has so many tangential answers that can be expanded upon to guide them in a better lifestyle. Healthcare needs to be more proactive and preventative by focusing on health and wellness promotion, rather than simply reacting to patient complaints, abnormal diagnostics, or illness.
