Why she chose Jefferson NJ: Great surgical/office experience and my co-residents are awesome! It's also a great location; the hospitals are close to Philly.

Kiru Motanya PGY-3

Undergrad: University of Pittsburgh

Podiatry School: TUSPM

Why she chose Jefferson NJ: For the attendings and hands-on experience that is offered here. As a resident, your attendings are going to see you when you are stressed and when you make mistakes. It was critically important that I felt like I could learn under these circumstances. I have to feel comfortable with you in order to get the max benefit. Also, the "Jefferson way" is to learn by doing, which is honestly the best way to learn surgery!

Fun outside of residency: Bike riding, yoga, maintaining 45 browser tabs at once, being out in the sun or just outside in nature, traveling, and fantasizing about getting a dog.

Alex Lakner PGY-2

Why he chose Jefferson NJ: Attendings who let the residents create plans and execute them in surgery, great surgical/office experiences, diversity of cases, team dynamic!

Fun outside of residency: Skiing, sailing, going to the beach, cooking, exploring all that Philly has to offer, and traveling!
